Glavine 300 Season 33 Rule Five Draft Recap

 

Did a 20 year rewind to see who had the best luck in the Rule 5 draft...quick answer it was NY/Fargo

 

10. DeiviColome (Houston/Texas-wylie715)  8^th Pick in the draft, only played 163 games but did have one solid season (14-9, in over 200 IP with a 4.29 ERA)

9. BillyReynolds (Richmond/Tampa-wallyworld) 3^rd pick in the draft peaked early and flat lined after that. 51 homers and 168 RBI in a two year window where he was pretty solid.

8. DonShreve (NY/Fargo-daddiothree) Picked up pretty late (17^th) Not a great fielder at 2^nd but did pop off for 28 homers in parts of two seasons.

7. RobinzonRoque (Pittsburgh-verik22) Proved to be a solid bullpen piece for several seasons appearing in 359 career games including 5 years with a sub 4.00 ERA

6. HankRyan (Richmond/Tampa-Wallworld) The 2^nd of 3 picks by wally, 37 career saves including 14 in one season. Career ERA sub 4.00 in 370 games

5. BennyRobinson (Richmond/Tampa-wallyworld) The last of the picks by wallyworld.  Taken 28^th overall he was a steal winning a Gold Glove at 1^st while also having three straight seasons where he was a 20-20 player.

4. PabloNieves (Omaha/Vancouver-Outlaw 6-4-3)  AS/GG and 80+ Plays at SS and CF. Not much of a bat (Career .598 OPS) but did steal 78 bases to go along with his dynamic fielding

3.  Kelly Eldred (Scranton/Kansas-pitboss13) Over his nearly 1400 games Kelly was a two time all star making 88+ plays at SS. Had a little pop as well knocking out 10 homers in 3 seasons.

2. GarrettLindor (Columbus/Buffalo-ab90) I was not a fan of ab90 but he scored real gem with this pick. Almost 2000 career games he won 3 World Series Rings, Gold Gloves in RF and 3^rd while also making an All-Star team. Not a real monster at the dish he did hit 158 career homers.

1. Vic Posada (NY/Fargo-daddiothree)  This guy was an awful Catcher, but a hell of a hitter. 337 Career jacks and an OPS of 834. Multiple Silver Sluggers, All Star Games and a World Series Ring
